UPROSA: Copyright

Do I keep the rights to my work submitted to UPROSA?

OF COURSE! What's yours is yours. When you send us your image & story, you continue to control the rights to it - in this context please read our Terms and Conditions for Image Submission. We only make your work available through our trusted distribution channels. If your work is selected by our retail partners, they will make it available through their online / offline distribution channels without infringing your rights to your work. We have strict image usage agreements with our partners. All of our suppliers agree to use images shared solely for UPROSA’s production purposes and agree not to share your images with third parties without the permission (in writing) from yourself (via UPROSA). Furthermore, all suppliers agree not to promote or show your images, or products based on your image, via any online or offline channel to third parties.

How do I know if I own copyright of my image?

If you took the image, it is likely that you own the copyright. However, every university and research organisation has a different policy, therefore we highly recommend that you clarify the image copyright with your professor or legal department of your institution, before submitting! If several researchers contributed towards the image, please ensure you have permission from the whole team before you submit to us. Remember it is your responsibility to ensure you own the rights, or have been granted permission, to submit the image. UPROSA rejects any responsibility and cannot be made liable for copyright infringement. If this sounds a bit daunting, don't worry, simply contact us and we will be happy to advise you further.

How do I file a notice of claimed infringement of intellectual property rights?

UPROSA has a zero tolerance policy for infringement on another's copyrights and other intellectual property rights. It is UPROSA's policy to expeditiously remove content that is reported to contain material that infringes upon the copyrights or other intellectual property rights of third parties. If you need help, please feel free to contact us at any point of time.

Copyright infringement

We take claims of potential infringement seriously. To help avoid confusion or inappropriate action, ideally, the rights holder himself or herself would contact us.
